About the job

The Billing and Payments team is responsible for the gathering and processing of all consumptions of Scaleway’s product by the client. 
We develop and maintain the data flux to have up-to-date invoices during the month and then proceed with the issuing of these invoices during the monthly billing. The team is then responsible for the payment process to ensure those invoices are properly paid for.

At Scaleway, Billing and Payments are therefore very data-centric around the billing pipeline and the APIs that allow the various needed actions.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager of the team that is also composed of 6 DevOps engineers and one Product Manager, you will be in charge of maintaining the Billing and Payment stack and pushing new features in production in our Agile organization.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the billing and payment processes are smooth, providing the best possible user experience around billing and payment in the console (and admin console used internally), and challenging demanded features with your tech knowledge and customer centric vision.

You will play a key part in Scaleway growth and customer satisfaction.

Profil recherché

  • Good communication skills and pro-activity : ask others, discuss your choices, see more than your ticket !
  • Good knowledge of Python
  • Experience as a Software Developer and with API development (GRPC, protobuf)
  • Good knowledge of PostgreSQL (and TimescaleDb)
  • Knowledge of some DevOps tools: Ansible, Gitlab CI, Sentry, Prometheus…
  • Knowledge of Docker
  • Deliver battle-tested features (billing is quite sensitive)
  • Good command of English

  • Ability to remain cool-headed under pressure
  • Knowledge of Golang
  • Experience with kubernetes
  • Demonstrated ability to respect coding standards and best practices: provide and receive constructive code reviews
  • Passionate about complex and smooth data flowing architectures (streaming, event bus, …)
  • Good command of French

  • Deliver features during our agile sprints, from grooming of the tickets to production release of the feature
  • Support product teams for smooth understanding and usage of Billing
  • Contribute to best practices, architectural and service design collective choices
  • Identify pain points and potential enhancements in our stack
  • Be responsible for our infra and software stackPay an extra care to the quality of the code: billing and payment must be extra safe as you can imagine !

    • Locations

    This position can be either: 
    - Based in our offices in Paris or Lille (France), partial remote is possible.

    On average our process lasts 2-3 weeks and offers usually follow within 48 hours
